KST Activity in Ilaga, Papua Continues: Sadistic Assault to Civilians by Local Terrorist Group
JAYAPURA, POJOKINDO.com – Terrorist group (KST) in Puncak regency, Kepala Air area, returns to attack civilians in Ilaga district, Puncak regency at Thursday, October 19th 2023. In this incident, workers of PT. Gloria Papua Permai became the victims of the terrorist group cruelty. PT. Gloria Papua Permai is a company appointed by the local government to build a primary health care facility in Omukia area.
Head of Operation Officer Damai Cartenz Task Force, Police Grand Commisioner Faizal Ramadhani stated that the attack caused one of the victims deceased and three others were severely wounded. The wounds caused by sharp weapons such as arrows and machetes. About nineteen other victims were safely evacuated.
“Yes, it is true, in Thursday, approximately at the middle of the day, a group of people assaulted the workers of primary health care facility project in Kepala Air, Puncak Regency,” he said.
Head of Public Relation Damai Cartenz Task Force, Police Grand Commisioner Adjutant Bayu Suseno stated that the assault happened around 01.00 PM Eastern Indonesia Time. The information itself reported by a survivor of the incident. Afterward, a joined force of Indonesian Army and Damai Cartenz Task Force was initiated, in order to give immediate respond at the crime scene.
He stated at around 3.00 PM Eastern Indonesia Time, all of the joint force’s personnel were assembled and ordered to patrol the crime scene. The objective of the joint force was the rescue of two workers who have yet to be found.
“After the search, we found one of the missing workers already died, and the other hid in the bushes, suffered a hit by an arrow,” he stated. Bayu explained, the Task Force is committed to uncover the identity of the perpetrators in order to enforce the law to the terrorist group in Kepala Air area. (Khoirul Anam)
