Once Again, Barbaric Incident in Yahukimo, Terrorist and Separatist Group Killed Civilians
YAHUKIMO, POJOKINDO.com – Assault and massacre to local civilians by terrorist and separatist group in Yahukimo, led by Yotam Bugiangge, occured in Mosodumba village, Seradala district, Yahukimo regency. The incident happened in Monday, October 16th 2023. The victims are local civilians who work as gold miner.
The incident reported by one of the survivors who managed to escape the massacre. The survivor barely escaped and ran to the local the police station that night, to report the local authority about the massacre. The witness explained that there was an attack from a terrorist and separatist group, allegedly the local terrorist group led by Yotam Bugiangge. The perpetrators used sharp weapons and firearms (assault rifle SS-1) to assault the local civilians as they worked in the Kali Kei gold mine that night.
To respond the report, in October 17th 2023, a group of Indonesian army and local police joined forces to evacuate the victims in Kali Kei, Mosodumba village. The joint forces moved from local police station in Yahukimo to Kali Kei, armed with body armor and firearms to anticipate the probability of counterattack from the terrorist group. As the joint forces approached crime scene, they received a gunfire interference from the terrorist group led by Yotam Bugiangge. A gunfire combat between the joined forces and the terrorist group happened near Kali Kei, and the joined forces emerged victorious repelling the terrorist attack.
From the crime scene process done by the law authority of the joint forces, there were 7 deceased victims initialed U (38), M (36), A(32), Ap (37), Ar (28), S (24), and H (23) and several wounded victims who worked as local gold miner. After securing and processing the crime scene, the joint forces began to evacuate the remaining victims and dead bodies to Dekai Public Hospital.
According to forensic examination by Dekai Public Hospital, there were several gruesome wounds found in the dead bodies. The victims were slashed multiple times by sharp weapon, the perpetrators were presumed using machete to assault the victims. There were also found arrows pierced the majority of the dead bodies in several body regions: the chest, the abdomen and the back. Gunshot wounds were also identified in the dead bodies. The wounds found in the dead bodies of the victims indicated a sudden and deathly assault by the offenders. They surrounded the unaware local civilian who mined the site that night, killed and butchered the victims without mercy. The bodies of the deceased were kept in the hospital mortuary to be treated according to local tradition and religion.The local authority immediately initiated a search party to locate and save the other remaining victims who might be scattered around the crime scene, hiding inside the forest or other occult locations from the terror of Yotam Bugiangge and his people.
